Kirk

Kirk is a space-saving double sofa bed with a side opening mechanism, complete with a 160 cm double mattress in non-deformable polyurethane foam, 12 cm thick. Available in two sizes, it can be customised in fabric, leather, or faux leather in a wide range of contemporary colours.
Milano Bedding and internationally renowned designer Karim Rashid, who developed the concept by drawing inspiration from the virtuosity of jazz legend Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Drawing a parallel between music and design, Rashid created a formal concept based on the perfect balance between contemporary aesthetics and functionality. In line with the sensual minimalism that defines the Egyptian designer’s style, the sofa features fluid forms, curved lines, and generous volumes free from rigid angles. This visual comfort is reflected in a cosy and inviting sofa equipped with large movable back cushions and a single-cushion seat. The armrests have an organic silhouette and can be enhanced with a contrasting profile that flows seamlessly into the backrest.
Despite the exceptional attention to aesthetic detail, Kirk does not compromise on the practicality of a high-end space-saving convertible sofa. The transition from sofa to bed takes place through a side-opening mechanism, a solution that allows a double sleeping surface to be created while minimising excessive depth in the centre of the room - in Kirk’s case, not exceeding 180 cm in depth. The transformation process is simple and effortless, achieved by rotating the seat quickly and smoothly thanks to the patented Lampolet mechanism, long recognised as a guarantee of reliability, safety, and durability over time.

Mattress
All models include a Standard mattress h.12 in non-deformable polyurethane foam. Alternatively, numerous other spring, polyurethane, and latex mattresses are available.

Upholstery

The sofa bed has removable covers and can be cleaned according to the care instructions specified for each upholstery material.
